Director of Audience Engagement, Hartford Courant

  • Oversees digital strategy for all of the Hartford Courant's on - and off-platform channels.

  • Manages a team of 10 journalists in launching subscriber-only products and experiences, including exclusive live chats between reporters and readers, premium newsletters, virtual events and topic-based community groups.

  • Works across the newsroom to build growth strategies for specific audiences, implementing innovative approaches to coverage based on key performance metrics.

  • Created a "digital playbook" to increase user engagement and retention, which was adopted and distributed across all of Tribune Publishing's newsrooms.

  • Partnered with local artists to start "Courantly," our live event series aimed at reaching young, diverse audiences in the Hartford area.  

  • Hosts monthly newsroom-wide trainings on SEO, effective headline writing, social media best practices, using metrics to guide editorial decisions and more. 

  • Managed the launch of our redesigned website and CMS migration.

  • Point person between the Courant newsroom and Tribune's central product, editorial and marketing teams.

January 2017-April 2018

Social Media Editor, NBC New York

  • Developed a social distribution and engagement strategy for NBC New York's branded accounts as their the sole social media editor.

  •  Originated and worked on the production team for NBC New York's daily Instagram morning show, "Listen Up."

  • Established content and posting strategies based on both real-time and historical analytics and audience metrics.

  • Created original graphics and videos for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

May 2014 - June 2016

Online Producer, Hartford Courant

  • Created original digital content aimed at telling stories in unique, thoughtful ways to reach new audiences, engage the community and connect our journalism with readers.

  • Worked alongside newsroom executives to develop and implement a video strategy for as well as the Courant’s Facebook page, which I produced and edited at least four original videos a week for.

  • Managed the home page and social accounts on mornings, nights and weekends.

  • Developed and organized social media initiatives, including the #MyHartford Instagram takeover series, which helped grow our audience by more than 8,000 followers in six months.
